Hatsan Arms – World Renowned Turkish Gun Manufacturer
A couple of decades ago, no one in the UK had heard of Hatsan Arms. If you wanted a budget shotgun, you had to look at the then market leaders at the lower end of the spectrum which was dominated by Baikals – no-nonsense Russian made guns that were bullet proof but lacked a little bit of finesse shall we say – Spanish made over-and-under Lanbers; and Italian made alloy action over-and-unders which were re-badged and sold by others such as the Browning Medallist and Lincolns made by the Italian Firearms Group (FAIR).
Then along came Hatsan. When it was first introduced to the UK, the Hatsan Escort semi-automatic took the Country by storm and sold in its thousands. With a retail price under £500 and a lengthy guarantee, it was a winner.
Other Turkish manufacturers such as Huglu, Yilditz quickly followed suit and more recently the likes of ATA Arms, Revo, Armsan and Kofs have become familiar names in the UK.
Hatsan is one of the few self-contained firearms factories. The production within the Company borders includes, machining of wood, machining of metal parts, heat treatment, coiling, finishing like honing, different types of chemical plating & bluing, injection moulding, metal injection, mould making, welding, engraving, barrel drilling & barrel manufacturing, laser marking, laser engraving on wood & metal parts, camouflage coating, assembly, quality assurance testing, test shooting, etc. All carried out on site.
With a production site of over 35,000 square meters, over 650 workers, and extensive machine shop with over 500 different machines including the latest high-tech CNC machines, it is small wonder that Hatsan Armshas been the leading shotgun manufacturer in Turkey since 1976.
In the design and development stage of production, the latest 3-D CAD systems are utilised. All individual synthetic parts, metal parts and assemblies are analysed through CAE software programs, so that cost elimination and durability are increased. Thanks to up to 5 axis CNC machines, all production pieces are machined by CAM software. Conforming to, and certificated to ISO 9001 standards, the manufacturing processes and assembly steps are all strictly controlled as per the ISO9001 requirements.
A Breath of Fresh Air
Hatsan Arms are also a very well-respected manufacturer of airguns, producing a variety of different PCP, spring and gas ram models.
Even though velocity rates may appear the same from brand to brand, in most instances that is not the case. Hatsan establishes its velocity rating using heavier lead pellets, while most competitors use lighter aluminium pellets to market their velocities. What this means for you is that a Hatsan airgun delivers OVER 30% MORE IMPACT ENERGY than an alloy-tested airgun with the same velocity.
Many of their airguns offer specialty features that come standard within our product line to provide shooters with a better experience, including the Quattro Trigger, SAS-Shock Absorber System, QuietEnergy, XRS – Recoil Reduction System, Barrel Release System, TruGlo® fiber optics, the Triopad® butt system, patented “Antidouble pellet feed mechanism” preventing more than one pellet loading into barrel and “anti-knock system” preventing gas wastage when rifle is knocked or bounced.
All Hatsan designs are conceived and developed in-house. This means every Hatsan airgun design is an original, not a reproduction. Only the highest-grade raw materials are used, including fine Turkish walnut and durable German steel.
By producing high quality products at competitive prices has meant that Hatsan is now able to export 95% of its products to 90 different countries around the World. It is little wonder that Hatsan Arms has become one of the world’s most recognized brands in the shooting sports, airgun and firearm industry.
